Making the Transition

When we speak of planning and designing sustainable cities, the topic of the circular economy is likely to be raised. Conversations on how we should do that centre around how larger industrial players can be supported through design. But what about smaller community initiatives like makerspaces that are already engaging in circular practices? How can we strategically locate them so that they are effectively embedded in the urban fabric and promote more circular practices in the community? Making the Transition investigates makerspaces in Gothenburg with the aim of understanding of how they work or could work as a system within the larger network of urban streets and the circular economy.
