Concept model
To capture Hanne Kjaerholm’s idea of the “house by the sea”, we have reduced its basic properties and principles. The building is almost completely symmetrical with a closed part around the bedroom area and kitchen and a glazed public living area facing the sea. The house has a clear direction towards the ocean but closes to the surrounding buildings. To recreate Hanne’s idea of the private / closed and the common / open space, we have in the model designed the open with a glass box and the more closed with slats of white painted wood. To create the symmetry, we let the model be reflected in a mirror.
