CHEAPER BUT BETTER

– An investigation of the interrelation between
building costs, life cycle costs, energy use, climate footprint
and architectural qualities, of a small rental villa in Sweden


The concept was to re-design a villa from a few selected parameters [cost, climate & architecture] & investigate how it could be made cheaper, but better.

the result from changing the building volume & materials, large lifecycle optimization potentials were found, saving 5,4% in cost, 18% in energy & 31% in Co2 emissions, while still improving the architecture.
