Step 2 : Nodes

After this step, I mapped out the interactive radius. The darker the color is, the more willing people are to open themselves up. And the pressure inside nodes and anti-pressure outside nodes help me reshaped the nodes’ boundary. The amount or pedestrian flow helped me define the height of the node. The more people passing by, the more edge zones should be provided for the potential stay, the more steps will be on the edge.

Step 3 : Vertical surfaces

Visual connections along main direction were used as a reference to frame the window size.

Step 4 : Overhead Structure

After this step, I also added some overhead structure or bent some surfaces on the top to increase the enclosure at some area meant for people to stay.

And here you can have a closer look of the three dimensionality of my intervention. At some area, I tilted the overhead plane to create the spatial densification. And some curved surfaces have better function to guide movements, also provide better protection at the inward side.
