Process & Reflections.
We started off the first days by looking through photos and drawings of the house, realising its complexity and many rooms and details. It was a challenge to make the most of the material that we had available. Many drawings differed in measurements and when it was made which made it difficult to know exactly which measurements to use where.
The three different models are all very different and together they catch the essence of the Aalto House, something that has been very interesting to work with. We had to be very conscious about what we wanted to represent and how. The sharp edges and corners of the exterior and the warmth and diversity of details in the interior could not be represented in the same model.
